Jesus Loves Yvenson

Bonjour from Delmas 31 Port au Prince. As I sit out looking over the tops of houses made of concrete & tin I am overwhelmed by Gods grace & love. That He has called me to shine His light and love to not just only my students, but other volunteers and to any Haitian that God brings into my life. They are such beautiful people inside and out and I know that God has brought missionaries here to create trusting relationships so that they will shine their true inner beauty to others.

I have never had a sense of feeling at home anywhere then I had when I stepped out into the heat, humidity & smell of burning plastic here in Haiti. A sense of security and safety surrounded me ironically as most would not feel that coming to a 3rd world country. Yet God has put this desire and passion to be here in Haiti and I am so thankful to finally feel that I am where I belong and where He wants me to be for Him.

Meeting my students on the first day of class, I can not explain the joy that rushed into my life. Their automatic attention & and eagerness to learn made me so excited to begin this blind new adventure of being Miss Emily. I can honestly say I love hearing all these sweet children call out Miss Eemilyy (saying it just like that) and it makes me so excited to know that I get to hear these voices until August.

The first day one of my students put his name on the top of his paper but he didnt just put his name, Jesus loves Yvenson is what he put. That melted my heart right then and there. At such a young age he knows that Jesus love him. I love telling my kiddos everyday that Jesus loves them, that I love them and that they need to love each other. I do not let them leave without telling them how much He loves them.

Before they eat their meals they all in unison say a prayer " Dear Jesus thank you for my food and my clothes, for my momma and papa. help me to be good to love you more everyday. Amen" I have to hold back tears everyday when they say this.

I am learning to trust God everyday and surrender my life to Him constantly. I know God has directed me to Haiti but where in Haiti I do not know. I want to focus on my kids, focus on pouring out my love to them, teach them to love others, and to thank God everyday.

I pray that I leave a memory in these children's lives within these next weeks to come & that they will know me always at Miss Emily.

THank you all for supporting me on this journey. It is the right journey. I have finally surrendered my heart that God was wanting to capture for the last 22 years. I cant wait to see where He brings me to here, who He brings into my life here and those lives that I am planting seeds in.

Prayer requests~

- continues to guide me to where He wants me to go after teaching summer school
- He will protect my 15 students everyday
- The children's home will find a permanent house to live to begin forming a family environment.
- God will continue to open my eyes to this new culture and that I will be able to learn Creole to be able to communicate

Needs:
I am still in need of swim suit for my students when we go to the beach at the end of the summer. ages 7&8 years old. boys and girls suits needed.

Wether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying " This is the way; walk in it"
Isaiah 30:21

Tomorrow is a New Day

Hey Ya'll from Texas,

Tomorrow I leave for my new adventures in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I am so excited and cant wait to scoop up those kiddos in my arms. I have been preparing the last month in Kansas City & Texas writing lesson plans, bible studies, book clubs & thinking up fun crafts for my kinder kiddos. I have learned SO much through this process of becoming a kinder teacher.

There is so much to learn and experience in this new adventure that God has for me. I am going to open my eyes ears and heart to everything that Haiti & God have to offer in this new chapter of my life.

I am so thankful to every person who has supported me spiritually & financially. Thank you for your prayers as I will need them each and everyday! You are more apart of this ministry then you think.

Excited to share Gods love with all the beautiful people of Haiti and to share them with all of you!

Next time I will be writing a post I will be in Haiti : )

may God bless each and everyone of you this week.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
